Mother of Pearl/Abalone sheets for inlay/restoration,etc.

a)Goldlip approx 25mm X 25mm, £1.35ea, or approx 50mm X 20mm @ £1.25ea (2nds) and 50 X 25mm £3.50ea, 35 X 35mm, 1mm thick £4.50 ea,(all 1mm thick); 50 X 20mm @ £1.50 (2nds) (1.5/2mm thick). Usually gold through cream to white with occasional pastel colouration present. Some with ‘ripples’.

b)Blacklip approx 25mm X 25mm, £1.75ea (1mm thick) Grey to white colouring. Smaller flat pieces only due to relatively small natural curved oyster shell. Also 51X11mm (2.5mm thick) £1.75 ea.
c) White. Approx 40X20 £1.65,50X20mm £1.25(2nds)ea. 50X25mm £3.75 ea, 50 X 50mm £7.95ea.(Largest flat piece available.) All approx 1mm thick) Stipulate mostly white, ‘rippled’, or with some pastel colouring.
Other sizes. 35X12mm (2mmthick)£1.25, 42X20mm (2mm thick)£2.50. Also limited lot of approx 30mm X 140mm @ £7.95 each.

d)Green Snail. A very limited selection of giant sized pieces (+/-5% not quite perfectly flat) approx 30mm X 120 to 230mm long, 1mm thick from £14.50 to £29.50 per piece. As used in Victorian card cases,etc. Lovely material!

Abalone
e)Paper thin (Japanese variety) approx 110mm X 30mm+ (irregular shape) £7.50 per slice, or approx 50X40mm, £3.95. Lovely material, irridescent pink/green colours, ‘ripple’ effect patterns. Can be cut with scissors. Ideal for fan restoration and decoupage,etc.

f)1mm thick - 25 X 25mm @ £3.95ea USA variety (Red Abalone). Rippled/ringed patterns, some pink/green colours. Japanese ( as in D) are approx 25 X 25 and cost £4.95 each. Also irregular shaped US Green Abalone pieces with greenish tints approx 30X40mm £2.50 each (minimum 6 pieces).

g)New Zealand Abalone - an outstanding deep green-blue colouration, with superb patterns. 0.5 - 1mm thick. Only available in relatively small flat sizes (due to naturally small curved shell). 25mm X 10mm @ 75p each, or approx 25 X 25mm @ £2.95 each.

h) Veneers and laminated sheets Several types available in large sheets (approx 14 X 24 cms) :- Veneers -White with some colour and Donkey Ear Abalone £18.50 ea. Mexican Abalone – light and dark, and N.Z Paua shell (2nd grade) all at £16.50 ea. NZ Paua shell (first grade) – stunning vivid blue/green £29.50. All these types can be cut with scissors and are pieces of MOP formed together to give larger sheets.
